Under the Commercial Law Department our Firm also has the Pensions Division that advises clients on the Retirement Benefits matters. We draft Trusts Deeds and Rules for Pensions Schemes and also draft other documents such as Deeds of Amendment and Deeds of Appointment.

The Firm has advised Pension Schemes, Administrators of the Schemes and Liquidators of the Schemes on various aspects of the law under the Retirement Benefits Act. Clients are informed of any changes in the law and its impact on their Schemes.

The Firm is privileged to have in its numbers the Senior Partner Mr. John Simba, who as the then Chairman of Retirement Benefits Authority helped draft and chair discussions about the Regulations under the Retirement Benefits Act.

 

 

Though our core competence lies in the other areas of law stated above, the Firm has requisite ability in this field. We have a few individual criminal cases that we handle. We may add though that we have the capacity to act on more criminal matters as and when they arise.

 

 

Under our three Departments, we offer advice to developers and other property dealers as to the regulations regarding their enterprises and how best to proceed in keeping with the environmental regulations in place.


We also counsel and work for major regulatory bodies as to the conduct and approach to all the legal issues touching on the environment. We have also appeared severally for our clients before the National Environmental Tribunal.


 

 

Under our Civil Litigation Department, we do work for several insurance companies. We handle Civil Litigation on their behalf, in particular claims relating to personal injury and those relating to material damage (or insurance recovery).


We also give our clients various legal opinions on all related insurance matters including any changes to the law and on any potential liability that they may be exposed to in matters in which they have insured persons.


We negotiate on behalf of our clients under a ‘Without Prejudice’ basis with parties that have sued our insurance clients and put them to strict proof of any claims that they make against our clients.


 

 

Additional to the above services, we also handle all other aspects of law that relates to individual in their private capacity.
This includes the field of Family Law which includes advice to persons on marriages, separation and divorce. We also act for persons who wish to adopt children.


Where death has occurred, we also act for clients in maters such as Probate and Administration. We are also involved in the drafting and creation of Trusts, in the drafting of Wills, in the pursuance of immigration issues and permits and generally offering personal legal advice where it is required.

We handle all aspects of family law, estates and trusts, wills and general personal legal counsel.
